“Harambee” Saturday, December 12th Featuring: Francisco Marques, Bateria Forca Feminina & Aima The Dreamer
SKIN Presents:
“HARMBEE”
Saturday, December 12th 2015
Deeply inspired by a tradition from our Swahili brothers and sisters, “Harambee” lovingly translates to, “All Pull Together”. It is the synergy of people coming together over a common goal, hearts lifted high. Harambee adorns Kenya’s Coat of Arms and is the country’s official motto. An invitation for togetherness, Harambee is about communal work, collective effort, deliberate acts of kindness and being of service / aid to others. These gatherings, often including music and food, uplift communities and offer a sense of healing and joy to participants.
Join us in celebrating the generous spirit of Harambee this holiday season, as we dedicate our evening to lifting up a community in need.
Oakland’s East Bay Agency for Children works to improve the wellbeing of children, youth and families by reducing the impact of trauma and social inequities. In the past 62 years, EBAC has served over 21,000 Bay Area families through school based services, family support services, community & prevention services and youth justice services.
Continuing tradition, we invite you to join us into a space where love is embodied, kindness is deliberate, and the music runs deep and connects us all.
