“Somos Sagrados” Latin Heritage Month Celebration feat: Carlos Mena & Tarimba {Sept 12, 2015}
SKIN Presents:
“Somos Sagrados”
Latin Heritage Month Celebration
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 12th 2015
The arrival of Africans, Caribeños and the Spanish to the busy port of Veracruz, Mexico has lovingly shaped the regional music known as Son. A mezcla of memory, tradition, protest, politics and passion, Son reflects the wonderful complexities and nuances of life. And always, it is meant for dancing. Across cultures and traditions, against promised filled horizons and the break of new days, we always will have something to sing about, a rhythm to fold our bodies into, a prayer for harmony when it is needed the most.
We invite you to join us as we graciously bow to the past as we dance with joyful abandon into our collective future. Love, ever present. Our tune is one that is set to a vivacious celebration of life and the music that connect us all.
Our evening will be filled with dancing to the beat of our favorite drum(s), with friendships and fandangos, décimas and shared dreams, with love and the lushest, most contagious rhythms that we call home.
Venir a bailar con nosotros.
