This month, we are proud to welcome our beloved East Coast brother / mover & shaker, Adam Gibbons, for his first ever performance in Oakland. Boasting over twenty years as a musician, DJ, producer and organizer, Gibbons is warmly known for his lovingly curated events including Soul Revival and Uhuru Afrika. A leader in the soulful house – dance scene of the East Coast, Uhuru Afrika offers a multi-sensory experience, bridging electronic sounds to the diaspora and beyond, naturally positioning Gibbons for an Oakland embrace.

Having worked with some of our musical heroes, from Bebel Gilberto to Black Coffee, Louie Vega to Oumou Sangaré, we are thrilled to welcome such a talented and accomplished individual to {SKIN}.

Please join us for an evening of celebrating the rhythms and stories that connect us all. As we invite music to be our common bond & shared medicine, we’ll journey from Angola to Antigua, Boston to Zimbabwe, Oakland and beyond with percussion and loved ones by our side.
